People


The people of Okeene are the native speakers of the language Ebira. The native people are called Ebiras and the other minor language group within the same central senatorial district are the people Ogori Known as Ogorians.
Ebira is a word in Ebira language which means behaviour, and the word behaviour without any adjective is considered as positive. It is believed that the Ebiras are people of good character, so they were given the name by other tribal group.      
Ebiras live within the valleys of Okeene. Each community live in social group surrounded by mountains. The people have a culture of social co-existence, so they live condensed within a geographical area.
